OCRRC RESCUE

Tari is a beautiful dark red 3 year old spayed female Ridgeback that escaped from her owner's home on Friday, January 2nd and was seen hit by a car early on Saturday morning, January 3rd. A witness phoned Animal Control and Tari was picked up and brought to an emergency vet. Her owners relinquished her to the county because they could not afford her medical bills and, with the help of SDRRC members, Ridgeback Rescue was able to get her and take her into their care.

X-rays revealed not just a broken but a shattered pelvic bone which requires extensive surgery. This surgery will be done by a board certified orthopedic surgeon in El Cajon on Monday, January 12th. She'll be kept for observation for 72 hours following that surgery and then go to a foster home for care and recovery.

Below are pictures of Tari being loaded onto a stretcher to go into the vet's office for x-rays and evaluation and then photos of her being transported from the shelter to the vet's office. If you would like to make a donation to help defray some of Tari's medical expenses (expected to total nearly $2000), you can follow the link below:
